About Kwigema Foundation

A registered Tanzanian NGO on a mission to restore hope and empower vulnerable communities through sustainable, community-led development.

Our story

From a community need to a national NGO

Kwigema Foundation was born out of a simple observation: many communities lack affordable, sustainable pathways to improve their own lives. Watching inequality widen and alternatives go missing, our founders came together around one conviction — communities already hold the solutions, they simply need support to unlock them.

On 10 March 2025 we were officially registered as a non-governmental organisation under Tanzania's NGO Act (Cap. 56, 2002), registration number 00NGO/R/8156, with our headquarters in Maganzo Ward, Kishapu District, Shinyanga Region.

We operate under the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, Elderly and Special Groups, aligning our work with Tanzania Development Vision 2050 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
